Dine in a piece of Coeur d’Alene’s history
By Jillian Chandler
If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience, 315 Cuisine, located on the main level of the 112-year-old historic Greenbriar Inn, greets you with its simplicity and elegance the moment you walk through the door. Take a seat at the stylish bar and order from the modestly priced wine list, or pull up a chair at a table indoors or outdoors on the patio. To add to the ambiance, live soft music plays every Friday and Saturday during the summer.
Guests will be treated to a flavorful and diverse menu of starters, small plates (tapas) and entrées. During the warmer months, you will find a menu featuring many lighter dishes to satisfy your taste buds. Guests will be treated to everything from delicious Seared Black and White Ahi, Brussels and Bacon with gouda cheese sauce to Toasted Brie Boule with seasonal fruits and honey. During spring and summer months, guests can look forward to specials weekly from local farms, as well as Hazelnut encrusted Ruby Red Trout, Reuben Sliders with house-made pastrami and slaw, Pasta Primavera with house-made pasta and market-fresh veggies.
“Our menu draws from an international scope, so our chefs have a great deal of freedom for their menu choices,” says Kris McIlvenna, owner.
To complement the cuisine, you can choose from a selection of handcrafted martinis and cocktails, beer and wine, and nonalcoholic beverages and mocktails. The 315 offers weekly specials, and you can be assured that their award-winning bar and bartenders will be shaking up something special for your drinking pleasure.
A 150-foot wrap-around deck surrounds the dining room and looks out over the garden and patio, where guests often sit under umbrella tables in the summer. Brick patios in the front of the house and a shady porch are ideal for fair-weather dining.
For 36 years, owners Bob and Kris McIlvenna have welcomed guests into their warm and inviting 1908 Nationally Registered property—The Greenbriar Inn—which not only houses 315 Cuisine but offers seven suites, each with its own distinct look mixed with antique and replica furnishings, as well as modern conveniences. The atmosphere is cozy yet eclectic, taking you back in time while still offering all modern conveniences.
If you’re looking to have an upcoming special event catered on- or off-site, The Greenbriar has you covered. Bob and Kris established this award-winning catering business back in 1986. The largest independent caterer in North Idaho, also catering to Eastern Washington, they can cater up to 70 people indoors on the main level of Greenbriar Inn and upward of 150 during the summer months, as the grounds feature a large outdoor deck and garden area. If you’re thinking of hosting a much larger event off-site, Greenbriar can cater parties up to 1,000!
A unique place to gather with friends or family, dine in comfort while enjoying a piece of Coeur d’Alene history. With the inn just steps from downtown, Kris and the rest of the 315 team invite you to dine with them Tuesday through Saturday starting at 3:15pm. It’s time to dine in history!
