The Grill at Avondale, a neighborhood pub and restaurant, is a hidden gem that reflects the history of Avondale Farms on which the restaurant is located. The restaurant offers a rustic “barn chic” atmosphere decorated with barn doors and fixtures, which create a warm and relaxed environment. The menu offers a variety of home-style comfort foods and signature entrées.
What started out as a small bar with a limited menu known as “the Dale“ by members has now turned into one of the hottest dining spots in Hayden Lake. Open to the public, The Grill at Avondale treats guests to a menu with a variety of homemade comfort foods such as artisan pizzas and pastas that exceed expectations. In addition to the regular menu, Chef Jono Morrison creates a weekly fresh sheet, where diners can choose entrees like the maple pecan-glazed salmon or the seared pork tenderloin with a mustard caper sauce.
“Guests are surprised at the quality of our dishes and how affordable we are,” says Randy Folk, general manager. “Our prime rib on Friday and Saturday evenings is as good as you will find anywhere. We cure and smoke our own meats, which is the key to our success.”
According to Randy, “The transformation of the restaurant was at the core of redefining our brand. Breaking away from being known as a golf-course restaurant was our primary focus. We have established ourselves as the place to go in Hayden Lake. Our goal has been to provide a fun place for our guests to wine and dine and let loose at an affordable price, which I believe we have accomplished.”
He and his staff constantly hear guests say, “I had no idea this restaurant was open to the public,” and “We can’t wait to come back!”
Adjacent the restaurant is the newly decorated pub which is a great place to watch a sporting event and enjoy a cocktail. The pub has a full bar featuring cocktails, more than 25 beers and an extensive wine selection. “One of the best-known secrets by locals and members are the size of their drink pours, which are very generous, and no one goes away disappointed.”
During the spring and summer months, as of April 1, The Grill at Avondale is open daily at 8am.
